Quahada Switching Station

The Quahada Switching Station is located about three miles north of Highway 243 and east of County Road 126A in Lea County, New Mexico.

The project will provide additional capacity to existing substations in the area to help facilitate load growth, including service to a new natural gas processing facility. The project was recommended as a result of two system impact studies which examined the impact of load increases in the area.

The Quahada Switching Station was placed in-service date on July 9, 2015. The estimated project cost is $8 million.
