Cunningham-Monument 115 kV Transmission Line Project

The Cunningham-Monument 115 kV transmission line project was energized in December 2019. The project consists of about seven miles of new 115 kV transmission line between the Cunningham Substation about 12 miles west of Hobbs, New Mexico and the Monument Substation located approximately three miles northwest of Monument, New Mexico.

The project will enhance electric reliability and create capacity for load growth in the area.

On January 12, 2016 the Southwest Power Pool approved a Notice to Construct the project.

The estimated cost of the project is $6 million.
