Potash Junction-Livingston Ridge 115 kV Transmission Line Project

The Potash Junction-Livingston Ridge 115 kV transmission line project was placed in-service April 2019. The project consists of approximately 15 miles of new transmission line between the Potash Junction Substation located about 17 miles northeast of Carlsbad, New Mexico and the new Livingston Ridge Substation located about 25 miles east of Carlsbad.

The project will improve reliability and meet growing electricity demand in Eddy and Lea Counties. It will also create additional capacity in the existing 115 kV system.

The Southwest Power Pool approved a Notice to Construct for the project in December, 2015.
