Atoka-Eagle Creek 115 kV Transmission Line Project

The Xcel Energy Atoka-Eagle Creek 115 kV transmission line project consists of about 25 miles of new 115 kV transmission line between the Atoka Substation about three miles southwest of Atoka, New Mexico and the Eagle Creek Substation located approximately one mile northeast of Artesia, New Mexico. The project was placed in-service December 2018.

The project will increase reliable electric service in Eddy County.

On February 19, 2013, the Southwest Power Pool approved a Notice to Construct the project.

The estimated cost of the project is $21 million.
